"This was my first tattoo so I was quite nervous about how it was going to go. I already knew what kind of design I wanted and knew it was going to be difficult for the artist since it was in a difficult spot plus the amount of detail. When I came across Matt's Instagram I was blown away by his art and was surprised he hasn’t blown up yet. I followed his website and sent him a tattoo inquiry and in less than 24 hours he responded. He was professional and easy to communicate with. I was being difficult with the design and asked him to change it 3 times however he was patient and professional with me and did the changes very quickly. Upon the actual appointment, he was welcoming and professional. He made sure that I was aware of everything that was going on in the process. Actually getting the tattoo, Matt knew that it was my first tattoo and checked up on me often to see if I was okay or needed anything. There were a couple of times when I was being difficult but he stayed focused the whole time. Seeing the final product of the tattoo DEFINITELY exceeded my expectations. I didn't know a tattoo could be so detailed. After the tattoo, he was very descriptive about the after-care instructions and made sure I understood everything, even showed me different examples of aftercare tattoo ointment. I would definitely recommend him to a friend and I already have recommended it to a few. I will definitely be going to Matt for all of my other tattoos."

"I’ve had such an amazing tattoo experience with Matt! I had looked through lots of artists and when I saw his work, I knew I wanted him to be the one to tattoo me. I had a big idea, and he absolutely blew me away with the result! His communication was always professional, thorough, and direct. It was so much fun to work back and forth on the design until it was exactly how I wanted it. I really appreciated how he was able to respond within a few days and gave thought and care to his responses. When it came down to getting the tattoo, I felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable at his studio. He always made sure to ask how I was doing and was understanding and accommodating the whole time. During the entire length of the tattoo, Matt paid attention to every detail and took time and care with every dot of ink. I couldn’t be more impressed with an artist and how incredible his work was after twelve straight hours of tattooing! He carried the same amount of effort and detail till the very end. I was also very impressed with how thorough his instructions and tips were for before and after the appointment, which really shows how much he truly cares about his clients. Matt absolutely exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be more in love with my tattoo! He is all around professional, talented, caring, and amazing to work with. I can’t wait to be tattooed by him again in the future!"

“As someone getting their first tattoo, I did a lot of research into the look and style of many different tattoos and tattoo artists. I knew the idea of what I wanted but knowing that an artist will be the one creating and doing the tattoo, I wanted the art to be original and something that whoever I found had created. Instagram was key in my research and I was able to narrow it down to a preferred style that I was repeatedly drawn to. Physical studio location wasn't as crucial to me but in the surrounding area (IL, IN, IA) would be a plus. As I searched and clicked on images, Matt's site kept popping up and I looked at it every single time. Every image was exactly the style I was looking for, delicate and detailed. Luckily he also is local to Champaign which was perfect. The form on his site that's used to submit an inquiry was easy and straightforward and Matt responded within a couple days. We discussed via email the things I was looking for and he got to work. I think it was about a week later he sent the first draft. He explained what he was able to include and what didn't fit with the size restriction. Everything made sense and I loved what he came up with, I had no edits, I trusted his work. I was able to get scheduled shortly after. Matt offered an in person consultation since the studio is in his home but I felt our exchange via email worked for me. I asked a couple of questions prior to the day and Matt responded quickly and thoroughly. On the day of, his studio was easy to find, professionally set up, spotless, and very comfortable overall. The whole experience really exceeded my expectations. Matt, his process, communication, and studio were all easy, comfortable, and professional. Aftercare was straightforward and easy to follow, it healed quickly and looks great today! Overall the tattoo and the experience is exactly what I wanted and I love it! I will likely get another in the near future!”
